The Account Executive will oversee the financial activities and ensure accurate management of accounts, tax compliance, and reporting within the travel and tourism industry. This role requires strong attention to detail, experience with industry-specific financial practices, and a deep understanding of Indian tax laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations across multiple payment gateways.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for accurate financial analysis.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic forecasts. Provide variance analysis on revenue and expenses.
Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate tax filings (GST, TDS, income tax). Stay updated with Indian taxation laws as they apply to the travel industry.
Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and available.
Travel Industry Accounting: Manage vendor payments, refunds, commissions and accounting specifics related to travel bookings, tours and hotel accommodations.
Cost Control: Analyse and control operating costs to maintain profitability. Monitor travel-related costs such as airline tickets, hotel bookings, etc.
Revenue Recognition: Oversee proper revenue recognition from bookings, tours and other services in compliance with industry norms.
Financial Strategy: Provide input on financial strategy, investment decisions and cost-saving opportunities.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor junior accountants and finance staff. Ensure adherence to accounting principles and best practices.
